Samphire DevelopmentUraniumSA has been targeting the use of the ISR (in-situ recovery) mining method for the possible development of the Blackbush deposit. As part of the evaluation process an ISR field trial is planned. Timing of this trial has been delayed pending the outcome of exploration aimed at establishing the nature, tonnage and grade of recently reported basement granite uranium mineralisation (refer ASX releases dated 2nd and 5th December 2011). UraniumSA lodged the necessary Retention Lease application on 11th August 2011 to carry out the ISR trial. The proposed trial will comprise the installation of a small number of well arrays to collect key design parameters for plant and wellfield design purposes. In parallel with the trial we will be continuing a number of other studies primarily focused on adding to our already significant baseline data. There will be ongoing flora, fauna, groundwater, dust and radiation monitoring work. There will be ongoing exploration activities in the area as we still have a number of prospective sites for further mineralisation. |
