UraniumSA is an ASX listed company entirely focussed on uranium and operating in South Australia, one of the best regulatory regimes for mining and uranium in the world. Incorporated May 2006 and completing an IPO in October 2006, UraniumSA discovered uranium mineralisation in late 2007 in its Samphire project located approximately 20 kilometres southwest of Whyalla within the Gawler Craton geological province.

Within the Samphire project, the separate Blackbush and Plumbush deposits have aggregated Inferred Resources of uranium mineralisation of 18,300 tonnes of U3O8 (63.3Mt mineralisation at 290ppm U3O8 equivalent to approximately 41 million pounds of U3O8). High grade mineralisation has been discovered at the Blackbush deposit in sediments, at the unconformity at the base of Eocene, and in the underlying granite basement. The deposit has significant potential for the discovery of more high grade mineralisation with ongoing exploration.

The uranium mineralisation has relatively recently been found in granite basement below the Blackbush deposit. Initial work on this mineralisation indicates that there are real and exciting possibilities for further discovery elsewhere across the Samphire granite.
