UraniumSA
UraniumSA is an ASX listed company that explores for uranium in South Australia. Established in 2006, UraniumSA has grown from small beginnings into a successful South Australian business with plans for continued growth.
In late 2007, UraniumSA discovered a significant uranium mineralisation at its Samphire project, approximately 20 kilometres southwest of Whyalla within the geological province termed the Gawler Craton.
Initial indications suggest this could be one of the most significant uranium discoveries in recent Australian exploration history and could bring significant benefits to the State.
To date the deposit has primarily been considered for development using the low impact solution mining technique known as In-Situ Recovery (ISR), a technique used extensively elsewhere in the South Australia.
This evaluation has been slowed by recent exploration results identifying potential for extensive granite hosted primary mineralisation below Blackbush (refer ASX releases date 2nd and 5th of December).
A targeted exploration program is being planned for 2012 to determine the extent, tonnes and grade of the granite hosted mineralisation.
A comprehensive re-evaluation of all the data acquired to date will be undertaken to completely characterise all of the mineralisation within the resource estimates, scope all of the geological metallurgical and mining alternatives, and identify and rank the optimal mining method for all of the sediment hosted and granite hosted materials present. |
